Undergraduate Student Research

Undergraduate research is one of the most effectual forms of experiential learning. According to the American Association of College and Universities, “Undergraduate researchers learn tolerance for obstacles faced in the research process, how knowledge is constructed, independence, increased self-confidence, and a readiness for more demanding research. These benefits are an advantage in any career path.” Undergraduate research programs are wonderful opportunities for students who want to:

  • Get hands on experience in their area of study
  • Work closely with faculty on research
  • Gain experience conducting research independently from course work
  • Gain confidence in their abilities to conduct research
